Mom's Christmas Brownies |
| It's Yuletide Season again and you're wondering how to spice up your Christmas baking. Look no further. Christmas Brownies is a delightful recipe that will charm even the most ardent Scrooge during the holidays. Christmas Brownies makes an ideal addition to your Christmas Cake and goes swimmingly well with Christmas Stollen or Christmas Drinks.

Ingredients |

FIRST SET
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 cup walnuts
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup mixed glazed cherries or mixed fruit
- Measuring cups and measuring spoons
- Mixing bowls
- Sauce pans
- Cookie sheet
- Egg beater
SECOND SET
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 2 1/2 cups flour

Christmas Brownies |
Mix all first set ingredients together in a bowl. Dissolve 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1/2 cup boiling water. Add soda solution to mixture. Add 2 1/2 cups flour, and mix well. Drop a teaspoonful of mixture onto greased cookie sheet. Repeat until brownie mixture is used up. Bake at 350º F for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.
