Mom's Puffy Chicks (Appetizer)

Ingredients

CHOUX DOUGH
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
FILLING
  • 3/4 cup finely diced chicken
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • Measuring spoons
  • Saucepan
  • Baking sheet

Puffy Chicks (Appetizer)

Combine water, butter (or margarine), bouillon powder and salt in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add flour. Stir until mixture leaves sides of pan and forms a ball. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in chicken, paprika and seasoned salt. Drop by small spoonfuls, the size of small walnuts, onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 400º F oven for about 15 to 18 minutes until puffed and browned. Serve hot. Makes about 5 dozen.

Helpful Hints

Don't have chicken or chicken left-overs, but have lots of turkey left-overs, then use the turkey and call the appetizers, Puffy Gobblers.
